Hello Eagle Families,
Welcome to September! It is hard to believe, but Quarter 1 is passing by quickly. Our students and staff are working hard every day and we appreciate your continued partnership as we strive to maintain our "A" status!
Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow, September 7th. We hope you are enjoying the long holiday weekend with your families!
A huge congratulations to our students and staff for their hard work during testing last week! If your student missed an assessment, makeup testing will continue to take place this Tuesday, September 8th.
While we are still collecting the data, it is so great to see that we are already scoring higher on PM1 this year in comparison to PM1 last year. Our Eagles are off to a fantastic start!
Once all assessment data is finalized, students will participate in school-wide data chat. During these sessions, your student will reflect on their scores and set personal academic goals for the rest of the school year. Look out for updates on these goal-setting conversations that will take place next week!
As students settle into routines and become more comfortable with their peers, minor annoyances or peer friction can sometimes begin to surface. We are taking a moment to double down on our first "A" - Attitude. We want to remind our Eagles that while we cannot control the actions or moods of others, we have complete control over how we choose to respond. Coming to school each day with a positive mindset focused on personal success makes a huge difference. If your student is experiencing a concern with a peer or in a class, please encourage them to reach out to a teacher or counselor right away so we can help resolve it.
Last week we shared a message from our amazing team of Deans. If you have not had the chance to read this over, please do so. There are some great reminders of our school-wide expectations that are in place to ensure a safe and successful learning environment for all. Please know that we do handle discipline on an individual basis and understand that middle school is a time of transition and development for our students. We will continue to reinforce the behaviors we strive to achieve as well as teach and redirect.
Another carline request: if you arrive for the afternoon carline before our campus gates officially open, please be mindful of local traffic flow. Move your vehicle as far to the side of the road as possible so regular passing traffic and emergency vehicles can navigate the roadway without obstruction. This will also allow those needing to enter or exit our campus, safe passage to do so. Thank you for helping keep our surrounding neighborhood safe!
Join us for our next School Advisory Council (SAC) and PTO meeting on Tuesday, September 15th at 5:30 PM in the Media Center. We would love to see you there as we discuss campus progress and upcoming initiatives.
