Message From the Discipline Team

Dear PGMS Families,
As we begin Quarter 2, the PGMS Discipline Team would like to take a moment to thank you for your continued partnership and support. Your efforts in reviewing school expectations, rules, and procedures with your student are instrumental in helping us maintain a positive and productive learning environment for all.
We truly value the strong home-school connection we have with our families. When we work together, we set our students up for success - academically, behaviorally, and socially.
Please know that we appreciate your role in reinforcing the importance of respectful, responsible, and safe behavior both in and out of the classroom.
We will be reviewing behavior expectations with all students on October 16th during grade-level meetings and want to share the same message with you.
Quarter 2 Reminders
Here are a few important reminders as we move into the new quarter. We ask that you please review the following with your child:
📚 Tardies and Attendance:
Please remind students of the importance of arriving to class on time and being present every day.
If a student is misusing SmartPass, it can result in disciplinary action. All students are allotted four passes per day, each with a maximum time limit of 4 minutes. Parent Square messages are sent home for those with excessive lost instructional time.
👕 Dress Code:
All students must follow the CCPS Code of Conduct Dress Code. If a student is dress coded, they will receive a slip in the morning. A second offense in the same day will result in a minor behavior infraction.
  • Bike shorts are no longer permitted.
  • Shorts must extend to the tips of the fingers when arms hang at the sides.
  • Shirts must not be tied in the back, and must fully cover the back and midriff.
  • Blankets are not permitted on campus.
  • Badges and lanyards are part of the dress code. Not wearing them will result in a minor for insubordination. Stickers are also logged as minors.
  • Replacement badges will be distributed at the beginning of Semester 2.
  • Additional badges/lanyards may be purchased for $5.00 in the morning at PPU or bus arrival.
🌸 Fragrance Restrictions:
To accommodate students and staff with asthma and allergies, no cologne or deodorant sprays should be used between classes or in open areas. Strong scents can trigger severe reactions.
💻 Technology Use:
School-issued devices must be used for academic purposes only. Devices are monitored via Lightspeed, which allows staff to view what students are writing, viewing, and playing at any time.
💬 Behavior Expectations – SOAR:
Students are expected to follow our school-wide behavior framework:
Strive for Success
Opt for Honesty
Act Responsibly
Respect Others
These expectations help guide positive behavior throughout campus. Please review the following with your child:
  • 4 minors = 1 referral
  • Each additional minor = another referral
  • Minors reset each semester
  • Parents are notified of classroom minors via ParentSquare, phone, or email
