Hello Eagle Families,
As we settle into the final quarter of the school year, it was nice to be back on campus with the staff and students after spring break. Everyone returned ready to rock this quarter and finish strong.
Data Chats this past Wednesday went well and the focus of our students was greatly appreciated. We hope your student was able to review their current progress and set goals for the remainder of the year that brings them great success.
This Tuesday, March 31, our students will participate in the Florida Writing Assessment. This is a vital opportunity for students to demonstrate the growth they have made in their communication and writing skills this year. To help your students perform their best, please ensure they get a full night’s sleep on Monday evening, eat a healthy breakfast on Tuesday morning, and arrive at school on time and ready to test.
Your students' success is definitely a partnership. We kindly ask for your continued support with a few of our school expectations. It is very important that we protect the instructional time for everyone in the classroom. To assist in doing so please ensure your student is leaving all toys at home. As mentioned previously if a student requires a sensory tool, it must be a small, silent, non-distractive item that remains in their hand. However, please do not allow students to bring the "NeeDoh" style or liquid-filled toys to school as they are breaking and causing distractions in the classroom as well as the halls.
Our goal is for students to be fully present and engaged in their learning. To limit distractions, we also strictly enforce the cell phone policy. If a student brings a cell phone to school, it must remain turned off and stored inside their backpack throughout the entire school day. If a student is found on their cell phone during the day it will be confiscated and placed in the front office for parent pick-up.
By limiting these outside distractions, we allow our teachers to focus on instruction and our students to focus on their academic goals. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a high standard of excellence at PGM.
I would also like to take a moment to congratulate the Boys and Girls Soccer Teams. Both teams took first place yesterday in the district playoff. Great teamwork!
There is no school, April 3rd, as it is Good Friday. Enjoy the long weekend.
Let’s have a great week of testing and learning! Proud to be an Eagle!
