Message From Leadership

Thank you for another fantastic week! We are continuing to build momentum by leaning into our 4 "A"s of Success: Attitude, Accountability, Alignment, and Achievement. Ensuring that our campus as well as classroom environments are well established and set for productive learning.

First, I want to thank you for your patience, support, and trust during Friday's soft lockdown, which was initiated due to a safety concern in the surrounding neighborhood. A soft lockdown closes campus and keeps all staff and students within the interior of our building. Student safety is our top priority. In any event, we will communicate with families as quickly as possible and do our absolute best to keep you informed as situations unfold.

As we kick off week three, please remember that consistent daily attendance is essential to your student's academic progress and success. Our campus doors open at 8:35 AM. To ensure the safety and security of your student, we ask that if you arrive prior to this time that you enroll your student in the morning care program.

Course schedules should now be set as we have reached our 10-day count. If you have any concerns or questions in regard to your student’s schedule, please contact a school counselor. Please continue to monitor your student’s academic progress via Focus and do not hesitate to reach out to your student’s teachers if you have any questions with course expectations or their current level of performance. Every grade counts so we want to ensure they do not start to fall behind.

A quick dress code reminder, bike shorts are not permitted on campus. All shorts, skirts, and other bottoms must reach at least mid-thigh length. Also, if your student has a PE class and chooses to wear sandals or other non-athletic shoes to school, they must bring a pair of tennis shoes to change into to participate in class.

Tuesday, August 25th, is our first SAC/PTO meeting in the media center starting at 5:30pm. During the SAC meeting we will be voting on officers and reviewing this year’s School Improvement Plan. Looking forward to seeing you there.

This week our sports season also kicks off. Cheer on our basketball team as they play their first game of the season away at Port Charlotte Middle School! Keep an eye on the calendar as well as Parent Square notices for all upcoming events and activities.

Thank you for your continued partnership. Have a wonderful week!

Go Eagles!

Girls on the Run: Heart and Sole at PGMS

Ready to empower your girl to be physically active while she develops and strengthens important skills? Encourage her to grow and learn more about herself by joining Heart & Sole.

Heart & Sole focuses on five key parts: body, brain, heart, spirit, and how 6th-8th grade program teammates connect with others.

Teams work on setting goals through exercises and discussions. Each season ends with a non-competitive 5K Celebration, where participants celebrate who they are, how far they have come and where they want to go.
